Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Education Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about early childhood education, familiar with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, and eager to contribute to the development and execution of high-quality educational programs for young children and families. The Education Manager will work closely with the museum’s leadership team to ensure that educational programs are aligned with the museum's mission and vision, and that they meet the needs of diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging educational programs, exhibits, and workshops for children aged 0-8 years, in alignment with the museum’s educational goals.
- Supervise and manage a team of education staff and volunteers, providing training and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Visitor Services, etc.) to promote programs and ensure smooth operations.
- Create and maintain educational content that is inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
- Build and maintain relationships with local schools, teachers, and community organizations to foster partnerships and outreach.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events.
- Monitor program budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in the execution of all educational initiatives.
- Assess program effectiveness through feedback, evaluations, and data collection, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current on best practices in early childhood education, and museum education trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Museum Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in educational programming or museum education, with a focus on early childhood education.
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia philosophy and practices.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Experience with budget management and fundraising.
- Knowledge of current trends in museum education and child development.
- Passion for creating inspiring, hands-on learning experiences for children.
